Nikon’s firmware update ver 1.10<\/strong> for the Nikon Z9 will improve the duration for continuous shooting, letting you shoot up to 15 seconds, up from 3 seconds. Nikon say this is the world’s longest for a mirrorless camera with a resolution over 30MP (when shooting at 20fps).<\/p>\n

Update 6 Jan:<\/strong> The firmware update is now available for download from the Nikon download centre<\/a> and via the Snapbridge mobile app. Further improvements are planned for a future firmware update, including plans to boost video capabilities.<\/p>\n

Nikon to release new firmware for the Nikon Z 9 flagship mirrorless camera<\/h3>\n

From Nikon: London, United Kingdom, 28th December 2021:<\/strong> Today, Nikon is pleased to announce that firmware Ver.1.10 for the Z 9 flagship mirrorless camera is scheduled for release and will be available for download on January 5, 2022 via the Nikon download centre<\/a> and via the Snapbridge mobile app.<\/p>\n\t\t

The Z9 takes many of the design features of Nikon’s pro DSLRs and translates them mirrorless<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n

Firmware Ver.1.10 for the Z 9 will greatly improve the duration for high-speed continuous shooting.<\/p>\n

When shooting at 20 fps in [High-Efficiency RAW + JPEG BASIC (L)] recording, the duration will improve from the previous approx. 3 seconds to the world\u2019s longest*1 approx. 15 seconds*2.<\/p>\n

When shooting at 20 fps in [High-Efficiency RAW\u2605+ JPEG BASIC (L)] or [JPEG FINE (L)+ JPEG BASIC (S)] recording, the duration improves from the previous approx. 3 seconds to approx. 8 seconds*2.<\/p>\n

The improvement of high-speed continuous shooting will further support the capture of decisive moments for fast-moving subjects in high resolution.<\/p>\n

Additionally, a future firmware update will add variety of video functions as well as further improved operability and functionality for both stills and videos.<\/p>\n

*1 When shooting at 20 fps in [RAW + JPEG] recording with mirrorless cameras incorporating an image sensor of 30 megapixels or larger, available as of December 28, 2021, based on Nikon research.<\/p>\n
