\"Copyright<\/img>Organisers of a national photography competition have been forced to change the rules of entry after Amateur Photographer<\/em> (AP) was alerted to a blatant copyright grab.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Photography enthusiast Harry Besnard, from Cheshire, had planned to enter the Notcutts Garden Centres competition but was shocked to read the terms of entry (above) which stated: ?Once submitted, all entries and copyright will become the property of Nottcuts Ltd and can be used however deemed appropriate.?<\/p>\n

Up for grabs to the winner is a ?top-of-the-range? digital SLR and \u00a3500 of gardening vouchers.<\/p>\n

Judges include BBC presenter Christine Helen Walkden and gardening expert Peter Seabrook.<\/p>\n

After intervention by AP a spokeswoman for the chain said Notcutts was grateful for ?pointing out the issue?.<\/p>\n

She said Notcutts has amended the rules which now read: ?Copyright will remain with the photographer, but by entering the competition all entrants grant Notcutts the right to publish and exhibit their photographs in the garden centres and on the Notcutts website and other social media, as well as use in printed material, newsletter or emails.<\/p>\n

?No fees will be payable for any of the above uses. We will make every effort to credit photographers in any printed reproductions of their work but cannot guarantee that every use of the photographs will include the photographers? names.?<\/p>\n
