Venus Optics has announced the new Laowa 10mm f\/4 Cookie lens – a\u00a0pancake-style\u00a0lens that\u2019s specifically designed for\u00a0APS-C mirrorless cameras.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lens comes in Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E, L-mount and Fuji X-mount versions and is available in a choice of black or silver livery.<\/p>\n

The lens is extremely compact at\u00a0just 25mm long\u00a0and weighs only\u00a0130g.<\/p>\n

It is said to be \u2018the world\u2019s widest rectilinear pancake offering a remarkable\u00a0109.3\u00b0 angle of view.\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The optical structure of the lens consist of 12 elements (four of which are ED elements) in eight groups.<\/p>\n

Venus Optics says, \u2018the performance of chromatic aberration, flaring and ghosting effects are optimised to support your day and night snapshots.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n\t\t

Five aperture blades<\/h3>\n

The lens is built with five aperture blades and the Laowa lens is said to give \u2018stunning 10-point Sunstars can be easily created when shooting towards a strong light source.\u2019 \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

With a minimum focusing distance of just 10cm, you can get extremely close to subjects and play around with creating wide-angle macro shots.<\/p>\n

The Cookie lens is said to be able to achieve \u2018a nice separation between the object and background.\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The 10mm lens is equipped with a 37mm filter thread to allow you to use screw-in filters directly, without the need to use an additional filter holder.<\/p>\n

Featuring super-low distortion and ‘excellent image quality<\/em>‘, Venus Optics claims, ‘this is your go-to lens for street, landscape and everyday photography.’\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
