{"id":171553,"date":"2022-08-04T08:15:03","date_gmt":"2022-08-04T07:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/?p=171553"},"modified":"2022-08-03T16:53:39","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T15:53:39","slug":"30-canon-dslr-lenses-discontinued","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/latest\/photo-news\/30-canon-dslr-lenses-discontinued\/","title":{"rendered":"30 Canon DSLR lenses discontinued"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>If you&#8217;re a DSLR shooter, then you may have noticed that it&#8217;s becoming increasingly difficult to find and purchase new lenses.<\/strong> There&#8217;s a reason for this, and that is: Canon has quietly discontinued 30 DSLR lenses &#8211; including Canon EF \/ EF-S DSLR lenses. With the introduction of Canon&#8217;s full-frame RF-Mount mirrorless cameras in October 2018, Canon has been focusing on <a href=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/buying-advice\/best-canon-mirrorless-cameras-in-2022-167728\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canon mirrorless cameras<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our Technical Editor, Andy Westlake, has been tracking the availability of lenses available, and over the last three years has noted that 30 Canon EF lenses have been discontinued.<\/p>\n<p>So if you&#8217;re looking to buy any of these lenses, then you&#8217;ll need to act fast, if they&#8217;re still available anywhere (which they most likely aren&#8217;t), alternatively you&#8217;ll have to start looking for them second-hand, or renewed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s not just Canon that are discontinuing DSLR lenses, there have also been plenty of <a href=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/latest\/photo-news\/35-nikon-dslr-lenses-discontinued-171684\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nikon lenses discontinued<\/a>, plus Sigma and Tamron lenses for DSLRs that have also been discontinued, and we&#8217;ll be looking at these too.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t<div id=&quot;attachment_169056&quot;  class=\"c-caption aligncenter\" style=\"max-width: 1020px\">\n\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"169056\" src=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Canon-EF-14mm-f2-8L-II-USM-Lens-1000px.jpg\" alt=\"Canon EF 14mm f\/2.8L II USM lens -
