Details: This year marks the 20th anniversary of Hereford Photography Festival, the longest running annual photography festival in the UK. Central to the festival will be the theme of Twenty, a retrospective exhibition of works by world-renowned photographers who have exhibited at festival during the past 20 years. <\/p>\n
Many of these featured were just starting out when they first showed at the festival, and highlights include images from Rankin?s visit to the Congo with Oxfam in 2009, and a fascinating series of works by American photographer KayLynn Deveny exploring ?Cinderella? homes in Albuquerque, New Mexico. <\/p>\n
The Hereford Photography Festival was started by local photographer Dave West and one-time Rolling Stone photographer Al Vandenbert who both settled in Hereford in the 1980s and work by both will be on display in Twenty. <\/p>\n
Other highlights of the festival include a lecture by world-renowned documentary photographer and curator, Martin Parr, this year?s open submission exhibition, Open Here, which offers the unique prize of a \u00a32,000, and also an exhibition entitled The Hereford, featuring local breeders and cattle by Tessa Bunney, in which the works will be displayed around the city. <\/p>\n
Another exhibition, Focus Here, celebrates the IBSA World Blind Football Championship held earlier this year in Hereford, with work from 20 partially sighted students from the Royal National College for the Blind who photographed members of the England squad. <\/p>\n
