At photokina we got hold of one of the first mount adapters designed to allow the Samsung NX cameras to use Pentax K lenses. The intention of the adapter was that current Samsung GX series DSLR owners would be able to mount their Samsung GX lenses on the new series of cameras, but of course it also opens the way for us to mount some of our favourite Pentax K lenses from the past onto this digital APS-C body, and inject some new life into them. <\/p>\n

Here you can see a gallery of pictures showing what the Samsung NX10 looks like with a collection of new and old lenses mounted, as well as a few quick samples we have been able to take so far. A few review and more pictures will follow in the next few days. <\/p>\n

The adapter adds about 14mm to the camera’s lens mount to allow fitted lenses to find infinity focus<\/strong><\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

The pin in the adapter makes contact with the iris pin of the mounted lens, allowing apertures to be controlled via the ring on the adapter. When the white lens align the aperture is fully open. There are nine click positions. <\/strong><\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

One of my favourite lenses gets new life – the smc Pentax-M 135mm f\/3.5<\/strong><\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

The very much more modern smc-Pentax-DA 15mm f\/4 ED AL Limited edition sits very well on the black body<\/strong><\/em><\/center><\/p>\n

Even though this is a long lens, is doesn’t seem out of proportion and handles very comfortably<\/strong><\/em><\/center><\/p>\n
