A group of photographers plan to stage a protest outside the Tate Modern gallery in London tomorrow over their right to take pictures in public.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The gathering, which is being co-ordinated by photographers through the blogging site Twitter<\/a>, takes place at 3.30pm on Saturday 5 December.<\/p>\n

Last month a BBC photographer<\/a> was stopped by police under anti-terrorism laws while taking a photo of St Paul’s Cathedral from Tate Modern which lies on the south bank of the River Thames.<\/p>\n

Amateur Photographer<\/em> magazine has been fighting for the rights of photographers to take pictures in public places unchallenged by the authorities for some time, leading to an article in the Sunday Telegraph<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n
