\"Leica\"<\/img>A photographer is selling T-shirts, thongs and other ‘intimate apparel’ in a bid to raise enough cash to buy a Leica M9 camera.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jarle Aasland says he has been overwhelmed by the public’s response to the project which he launched on his ‘Leicadream’ website.<\/p>\n

‘Like many photographers, I’d love to get a Leica M9<\/a>, but it’s an expensive tool. First I’d have to sell a kidney, and then I would have a hard time convincing my wife that I really need a Leica rangefinder,’ the US-based photographer wrote after shooting on the Leica M9 for a couple of days and becoming hooked.<\/p>\n

Launched last month<\/a>, the Leica M9 costs \u00a34,850 inc VAT (body only) in the UK.<\/p>\n

‘I’m not doing this for the money. I’m doing it to fulfil a dream,’ he claims.<\/p>\n

The merchandise is supplied by CafePress, a firm that enables consumers to add their own design to products.<\/p>\n

The T-shirts, for example, feature an image of a Leica camera alongside the words ‘Explore. Dream. Discover.’<\/p>\n

Jarle says that he is so ‘grateful and humble’ with the response to his campaign that, if he collects enough cash, he will give away a second Leica M9 to one of the ‘leicadream contributors’. <\/p>\n
