Sigma has announced an upgrade for its APS-C sensor compact camera – the DP1. The new model, called DP1s, is said to allow the Quick Set function used by the DP2 and SD14 cameras to be allocated to the digital zoom buttons on the rear of the camera. Sigma also claims improved metering for backlit subjects. <\/p>\n

Other than these two features it seems the DP1s is exactly the same as the previous model that was launched in early 2008. The cameras share the same ’14 million-pixel’ Foveon X3 sensor, the same 16.6mm f\/4 lens and the ability to record both raw and jpeg files. <\/p>\n

Pricing and availability for the Sigma DP1s is yet to be announced. <\/p>\n
