High street photographic retailer Jessops has reportedly expressed concern about a potentially negative impact on sales caused by the delay in the cut to VAT, ahead of a vital pre-Christmas trading weekend.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week the government announced a 2.5% reduction to VAT.<\/p>\n

But the new 15% rate will not come into force until Monday 1 December.<\/p>\n

Chairman David Adams is said to be worried that the delay will mean lost sales over the coming weekend. He told Retail Week<\/a>: ?The time delay is awful. This weekend we may have to do something special.?<\/p>\n

David Adams (pictured below) was away and not available for comment when Amateur Photographer<\/em> contacted Jessops head office today.<\/p>\n

The store said that no-one else was willing to comment on such matters.<\/p>\n
