A photograph of pop star Britney Spears (pictured right) failed to find a buyer at an auction in London this afternoon.<\/p>\n

The news comes just weeks before Spears launches her ‘comeback’ album, on 2 December.<\/p>\n

The image of a fresh-faced Britney Spears, aged 17, had been expected to sell for \u00a315,000-20,000.<\/p>\n

It was captured by photographer David LaChapelle for Rolling Stone<\/em> magazine in 1999.<\/p>\n

Kate Moss<\/a> out-performed Spears in the auction at Christie’s, King Street. <\/p>\n

An ‘oversized’ crouching nude of Moss, shot in 1993 by Albert Watson, sold for \u00a316,250. <\/p>\n

Last year Britney Spears used her website to publicly apologise<\/a> for attacking a paparazzi photographer’s car with an umbrella. <\/p>\n
