Rankin has today revealed the results of a project which, he claims, marks the ?full stop? for Polaroid as digital photography takes over.<\/p>\n

The renowned photographer was commissioned to shoot 1,000 images to promote Macallan, a 30-year-old single malt whisky.<\/p>\n

Rankin visited the Macallan Estate in Scotland, resulting in what is described as a ?photojournalistic essay?. <\/p>\n

As part of the venture the whisky maker has launched a limited collection of 1,000 bottles of The Macallan Masters of Photography Fine Oak whisky.<\/p>\n

Each bottle depicts a different image of the Macallan Estate and comes with a unique Rankin Polaroid in a black leather box, lined with velvet, costing \u00a3899.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year Polaroid<\/a> announced the end of the line<\/a> for Polaroid film.<\/p>\n

Rankin said The Masters of Photography project struck a personal chord. ?Firstly, I?ve been able to come back to the country of my birth and portray its beauty through one of the most ambitious projects I?ve ever attempted. Secondly, this collection marks the full stop after Polaroid as we head into the digital age.?<\/p>\n
