A surfer catching the perfect wave, a yacht sailing into the sunset or a rugged image of a fisherman. Whatever the maritime subject the image could be in with a chance of snapping up \u00a32,500 in a contest organised by Amateur Photographer<\/em> (AP) in conjunction with Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the Sunday Express<\/em> newspaper.<\/p>\n

Judges say they are looking for high-quality, creative photographs that ‘encapsulate Britain’s coastal landscape’ and have a story to tell.<\/p>\n

In addition to being published in the Sunday Express<\/em> and AP, the winning image will be turned into a postcard that will go on sale around the UK.<\/p>\n

The victor will also bag a trip to the Pulteney Distillery in Wick, Scotland and see their image showcased at the National Maritime Museum. It will also be displayed on the VisitBritain and BritainOnView websites.<\/p>\n

To be eligible, entrants must earn no more than 10% of their total annual income from photography.<\/p>\n

The closing date is 11 January 2009.<\/p>\n
