A shopping centre has hit back at claims a security guard imposed a life ban on a couple taking photographs and branded them a ?terrorist? threat.<\/p>\n
Newspapers have reported that Kim and Trevor Sparshott were ordered to stop taking photos of their grandchildren during a visit to Fareham Shopping Centre in Hampshire.<\/p>\n
The couple had planned to surprise their family on a pre-Christmas shopping trip from their home in Spain.<\/p>\n
In a report published in The Daily Telegraph<\/em> Trevor Sparshott, 52 said: ?Instead of being a nice surprise for our family, it turned into a nightmare.<\/p>\n ?In these worrying times we understand the need for caution but surely a quiet word when he [the security guard] first saw us would have stopped all this unpleasantness.?<\/p>\n Centre manager Pam Gillard denied that Mr Sparshott had been given a life ban or had represented a terrorist threat. <\/p>\n Gillard told Amateur Photographer<\/em> that the security officer concerned has now ?left? the centre.<\/p>\n She claimed that Trevor Sparshott had caught the eye of the security guard because he had been seen taking photographs in front of a jewellers following recent ‘ramraids’.<\/p>\n She apologised if the duty manager at the time had not explained the situation clearly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A shopping centre has hit back at claims a security guard imposed a life ban on a couple taking photographs and branded them a \u2018terrorist\u2019 threat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":324,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[39],"tags":[],"product-category":[],"class_list":["post-26729","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-photo-news"],"yoast_head":"\n
