The art of photographing animals in captivity is the subject of two one-day workshops to be held at London Zoo on 8 and 9 October.<\/p>\n

Hosted by photographer Ben Osborne, the course will cover how to ?capture moving animals, how to use lighting in a zoo environment, how to frame and compose images and how to get the best from lenses?.<\/p>\n

?Ben has worked all over the world and is probably best known for his images of Antarctica in the BBC series Life in the Freezer and more recently for Blue Planet, a TV series about life in the oceans,? explained a spokesman for photo retailer Calumet which is helping organise the event.<\/p>\n

Calumet is offering a 25% discount to anyone who needs to hire photo equipment for their day at the zoo, as well as a free print.<\/p>\n

The event is backed by photography tour body, Light and Land.<\/p>\n

The ?Day at the Zoo? costs \u00a3117.50 and places must be booked in advance. The event takes place from 9.30am-4pm. <\/p>\n

?As far as we know the course does not provide specific training on meerkat photography – the subject of mass media attention last week when Amateur Photographer<\/a> exposed, as a hoax, a story<\/a> claiming the furry creatures were capable of taking family portraits at Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire<\/p>\n
