Billed as a high-quality film and print scanner for the ?advanced amateur? is the Perfection V500 Photo, unveiled today by Epson.<\/p>\n

Priced \u00a3199, the Perfection V500 Photo includes a built-in transparency unit and uses ReadyScan LED technology as a light source which, according to Epson, saves power.<\/p>\n

Due out in September, the 6400dpi (?optical resolution?) model is designed to be capable of scanning a 12-frame strip of 35mm film, four frames of mounted 35mm slides or a frame of 6x12cm medium-format film.<\/p>\n

It includes Epson Scan 3.2 and Epson Creativity Suite software, along with DIGITAL ICE Technology designed to remove the effect of scratches and dust on film being scanned.<\/p>\n

The Perfection V500 can scan prints up to A4 in size.<\/p>\n
