Channel 4 maintains today that controversial photos taken in the aftermath of the car crash that killed Princess Diana will be screened tonight despite calls to edit out the offending images.<\/p>\n

Diana: The Witnesses In The Tunnel will be broadcast at 9pm, followed by a televised debate on Channel 4 at 11.05pm.<\/p>\n

A Channel 4 spokeswoman told Amateur Photographer<\/i> magazine this morning that the broadcaster had nothing more to add following yesterday?s statement, which defied a plea from Clarence House to remove several images from the programme. <\/p>\n

Prince William and Prince Harry’s private secretary had written to Channel 4 saying that the princes believe broadcasting the images would be a ‘gross disrespect’ to the memory of their mother.<\/p>\n

On its website today Channel 4 states: ?For one night the press photographs became the most expensive ever but when Diana died they became worthless. Those who possessed them were hounded and for some their careers destroyed. The photographers have never felt able to tell their side of the story? until now.?<\/p>\n

The website adds: ?One image in the film has been appropriately obscured to avoid any unwarranted intrusion into their [the victims] privacy or that of their families.?<\/p>\n
