The ViviCam 7399 will be a ‘limited edition’ model sporting a 2.5in LCD screen and a 3x (f\/2.8) optical zoom lens.<\/p>\n
The camera is expected to arrive on the UK high street in July priced from \u00a389.99-129.99.<\/p>\n
Final specification is yet to be confirmed but features are expected to include close focusing down to 5cm and an MP3 player music function.<\/p>\n
The SD memory card compatible newcomer will also boast exposure compensation \u00b12EV in 0.5EV steps, a custom white balance setting and a ?voice recorder\/speaker? option.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year Vivitar outlined its bid to compete with big-name players in the digital compact arena and revealed plans to launch a 12-million-pixel digital compact later this year (see The Informer<\/i> AP 7 April).<\/p>\n
Speaking today, a Vivitar UK spokesman confirmed that the 12MP model is still ?in the ?pipeline? and will be launched towards the end of 2007.<\/p>\n
Vivitar ? a name associated in the past with 35mm film SLRs ? has kept a relatively low profile in recent years.<\/p>\n
