A national photography competition to pay tribute to the late Lord Lichfield is being organised by the Shugborough Estate, his ancestral home in Staffordshire.<\/p>\n
?Patrick Lichfield learnt the art of photography at Shugborough, taking photographs of the Estate?s parkland and gardens as a child,? said a Shugborough spokeswoman.<\/p>\n
?As his reputation as a professional photographer became established he travelled the world undertaking commissions but would still find opportunities to photograph at home using Shugborough and its grounds as the backdrop to many of his well-known images.?<\/p>\n
The competition will be called the 2007 Shugborough Photography Competition.<\/p>\n
More details were not yet available at the time of writing but are expected next week.<\/p>\n
The news comes as the Shugborough Estate, which is near Stafford, launches an exhibition to celebrate the work of Lord Lichfield who died in November 2005.<\/p>\n
The pictures on display include those from the 1960s, through to a shot of Oscar-winning actress Dame Helen Mirren captured in August 2005, just a few months before Lord Lichfield died. <\/p>\n
Informal images of the Prince and Princess of Wales are also featured in the show which is on until 26 October.<\/p>\n
