Most consumers who print at home do so because it is ?faster? and ?more convenient? for low volume prints, than alternatives such as high-street stores, reveals a European survey.<\/p>\n
The survey of 1,500 consumers who own a printer found that 63% of them choose to print at home more often than other options such as online printing – which was the second favourite – and retail printing which was the third choice.<\/p>\n
Nearly three-quarters of respondents (72%) said that home printing is faster and more convenient than other alternatives except when it comes to ?large print volumes?, according the survey by InfoTrends.<\/p>\n
More than half of the respondents also believe that retail photo printing, in its various formats, offers a ?better quality print?. InfoTrends director Norah Seery said: ?This may be because respondents perceive home printing as an amateur solution compared to commercial photo printing options, even if they are happy with the quality of the photo prints that they are producing at home.?<\/p>\n
Consumers captured, on average, 67 digital prints per month but only printed a quarter of those, according to the survey.<\/p>\n
The most popular home print size was 6x4in.<\/p>\n
