{"id":28431,"date":"2006-11-06T11:16:00","date_gmt":"2006-11-06T11:16:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amateurphotographer.co.uk\/uncategorized\/public-focus-for-3m-lottery-cash-28431"},"modified":"2014-09-02T18:44:33","modified_gmt":"2014-09-02T17:44:33","slug":"public-focus-for-3m-lottery-cash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/latest\/photo-news\/public-focus-for-3m-lottery-cash\/","title":{"rendered":"Public focus for \u00a33m lottery cash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The public is set to benefit from \u00a33m of fresh lottery funding for museums and galleries sparked by concerns over the ?state? of the nation?s collections. <\/p>\n<p>The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) wants organisations to use the money to ?increase activities for the public?, as well as to support acquisitions, research and curatorial skills.<\/p>\n<p>The cash will be ploughed into as many as 20 projects during 2007 and 2008. <\/p>\n<p>The grants will range from \u00a350,000-\u00a3200,000 and will be available to small, local museums and galleries as well as larger organisations.<\/p>\n<p>Welcoming the news Tyne &amp; Wear Museums director Alec Coles said: ?There has long been a need for strategic investment to halt the inertia felt by our museums and galleries but the resources needed for the collections have simply not been there.
