The death of a photography enthusiast who fell 300ft from the Shell Tower in London was an accident, an inquest at Southwark Coroner?s Court has found.<\/p>\n
Reginald Grogan, 75, died from multiple injuries after falling from the 25th floor of the building on London?s South Bank on 10 January.<\/p>\n
Grogan was a former Shell employee and is understood to have made regular trips to the building to visit friends and take photographs from the viewing gallery, which is not open to the general public.<\/p>\n
Announcing a verdict of accidental death the coroner added: ?He was a visitor [to the Shell building] and he was taking photographs from the observation gallery. He fell from that gallery and sustained fatal injuries.?<\/p>\n
Shortly after the fall police had attempted to recover images from a digital camera he had been using, found on the ground alongside his body.<\/p>\n
Police were not treating the death as suspicious.<\/p>\n
The gallery affords excellent views of popular London landmarks such as the nearby London Eye.<\/p>\n
