Young photography enthusiasts are being given the chance to learn about Victorian photography pioneer Julia Margaret Cameron thanks to a \u00a37,000 grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).<\/p>\n
The money is being used to help youngsters on the Isle of Wight explore their local heritage and learn about the legacy left by Cameron, according to the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust which is based at the photographer?s former Isle of Wight home, Dimbola Lodge.<\/p>\n
The project, called Spread Your Wings, includes workshops designed to teach old and new photographic techniques, ranging from pinhole photography to capturing portraits with digital cameras.<\/p>\n
?Thanks to the HLF grant we can give many young people the same creative opportunities that Julia extended to her own small circle of family and friends,? said the trust?s chairman Dr Brian Hinton.<\/p>\n
The project is open to young people aged between 13-18. <\/p>\n
