\"canon1_Ambient<\/a>\u2018At the moment we feel consumers want the biggest possible [imaging] sensor in the smallest possible body,\u2019 said Canon UK product intelligence consultant David Parry.<\/p>\n

The Canon PowerShot G7 X measures 103×60.4×40.4mm. Aimed at \u2018serious photographers\u2019, the G7 X sports a 20.2-million-pixel, back-illuminated CMOS imaging sensor and a 24-100mm (35mm equivalent) f\/1.8-2.8, 9-blade, aperture lens.<\/p>\n

Canon claims that the G7 X displays low noise, even at ISO 12,800.<\/p>\n

Though Canon concedes that the target audience is not the selfie user, the G7 X sports a tilting, 180\u00b0, 1m-dot resolution touchscreen \u2013 helpful for self-portraits.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the incorporation of touchscreen, Parry told AP: \u2018We think this is important to products of this level.\u2019 The GX 7 includes built-in Wi-Fi and NFC wireless connectivity, making remote operation possible, via a smartphone, for example. Manual operation extends to movie operation, where photographers can adjust shutter speed, aperture and ISO sensitivity.<\/p>\n

Priced \u00a3579.99, and due out in October, features also include a 31-point AF system and a \u20186.5\u2019 frames-per-second burst rate.<\/p>\n
