\nThe overall winner stands to pocket \u00a33,000, plus 50% of The Guardian<\/em>‘s syndication fees, and have their work displayed at The Strand Gallery next year.<\/p>\n

The deadline for entries is 30 November 2014 and entries can be captured using film or digital \u2013 including mobile devices.<\/p>\n

Former winners of this international competition have spoken of how the contest served as a launch pad for their careers.<\/p>\n

Among them is Wendy Sacks, who said she went on to win other competitions after being awarded a runner-up spot in 2012.<\/p>\n

Her work was showcased in exhibitions and was featured on television, in newspapers and online.<\/p>\n

\u2018I would advise any young, aspiring photographer to enter the Award,\u2019 Wendy told organisers.<\/p>\n

Richard Gray, who won the mobile category in 2013, said he believes his success at the Terry O\u2019Neill Photography Award helped lead to job offers.<\/p>\n

\u2018Winning the prize gave me a lot of confidence and belief in my own work\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2018There are few awards that have the credibility and pedigree of the Terry O\u2019Neill awards\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2018It really does seem to represent a major stepping stone in a photographer\u2019s career.\u2019<\/p>\n

Entrants must submit between three and ten\u00a0images, as an exhibition series, and provide a short narrative of no more than 100 words.<\/p>\n

Images must have been shot between 30 November 2013 and 30 November 2014.<\/p>\n

Categories include documentary, landscape, wildlife, portraiture and fine art.<\/p>\n

Entry fees apply. It costs \u00a312.50 to enter 1-5 images (\u00a36 for students); or \u00a325 for 6-10 images (\u00a312 for students).<\/p>\n
