This year the Amateur Photographer Awards will take place in February 2015, showcasing the best kit from 2014.<\/p>\n<p>This year we&#8217;re pleased to announce the opening of the &#8216;Amateur Photographer Reader Product of the Year award&#8217;, giving all our readers the chance to nominate and vote on the piece of photography equipment they feel has stood out this year.<\/p>\n<p>Ten products have been nominated by readers and we are now asking people to vote for their favourite from the shortlist in the <a href=\"http:\/\/poll.fm\/520vm\" target=\"_blank\">voting poll.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/poll.fm\/520vm\" target=\"_blank\">Vote now!<\/a><\/h2>\n<h2>The shortlisted products:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1. Canon EF-S 10-18mm f\/4.5-5.6 IS STM<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Canon_EF_S_10_18mm_f4.5_5.6_IS_STM-473x500.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40602 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Canon_EF_S_10_18mm_f4.5_5.6_IS_STM-473x500-300x317.jpg\" alt=\"Canon EF-S 10-18mm f\/4.5-5.6 IS STM\" width=\"300\" height=\"317\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Canon\u2019s wideangle zoom for APS-C SLRs offers a 16-29mm equivalent angle of view, optical image stabilisation, and a stepper motor for silent autofocus during movie shooting. Its excellent optics belie its budget price.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Fotospeed Panorama Paper<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Pack-shot_DxO.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40589 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Pack-shot_DxO-300x215.jpg\" alt=\"Pack shot DxO\" width=\"300\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Fotospeed\u2019s Panoramic paper allows you to make widescreen prints \u2013 210 x 594mm, or approx 8\u201d x 23\u201d \u2013 using an A4 inkjet printer. There\u2019s even a test pack to try out different paper finishes and create custom colour profiles for free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Fujifilm X-T1<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Fuji_X_T1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-40598\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Fuji_X_T1.jpg\" alt=\"Fujifilm X T1\" width=\"300\" height=\"292\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Undoubtedly one of the star cameras of the year, Fujifilm\u2019s X-T1 is an APS-C compact system camera that uses a 16MP X-Trans CMOS sensor, and bristles with external controls. The icing on the cake is one of the best electronic viewfinders we\u2019ve yet seen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Fujifilm XF 18-135mm f\/3.5-5.6R LM OIS WR<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Fujifilm-18-135mm-8-630x419.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40600 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Fujifilm-18-135mm-8-630x419-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"Fujifilm 18-135mm\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a>\n<p>A natural companion to the X-T1, this weathersealed optic offers a 27-200mm equivalent zoom range, along with fast autofocus and extremely effective image stabilisation. The optics are a cut above your average superzoom too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Nikon D750<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Nikon-D750-product-shot-1-630x420.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40595 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Nikon-D750-product-shot-1-630x420-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Nikon D750\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>\n<p>Nikon\u2019s 24MP full frame SLR is a consummate all-rounder, combining excellent image quality with a class-leading autofocus system. A tilting rear screen and built-in Wi-Fi round off a comprehensive feature set.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Panasonic_Lumix_DMC_FZ1000_front-630x485.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40593 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Panasonic_Lumix_DMC_FZ1000_front-630x485-300x230.jpg\" alt=\"Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ1000\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a>\n<p>With its 25-400mm equivalent zoom range, 20MP 1\u201d sensor, 2.36-M dot OLED viewfinder and 4K video recording, the FZ1000 offers a class-leading specification. Couple this with fast operation and excellent image quality, and the result is one of the best superzoom bridge cameras we\u2019ve ever seen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX100<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/LX100.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40592 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/LX100-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"LX100\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" \/><\/a>The LX100 combines a Four Thirds sensor with 12MP effective resolution, a super-fast 24-75mm equivalent f\/1.7-2.8 lens, and a built-in electronic viewfinder. With a excellent image quality and a comprehensive set of external analogue controls, it\u2019s a hugely engaging camera to use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9. Pentax 645Z<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Pentax-645Z-Product-Shot-1-630x494.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40591 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Pentax-645Z-Product-Shot-1-630x494-300x235.jpg\" alt=\"Pentax 645Z\" width=\"300\" height=\"235\" \/><\/a>\n<p>The 645Z uses a new 51.4 MP CMOS medium format sensor to deliver absolutely spectacular image quality. Extremely well-made and with handling similar to a conventional SLR, it\u2019s the next step up from 36MP full frame cameras.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10. Tamron SP 150-600mm F\/5-6.3 Di VC USD<\/strong><\/p>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamron_SP_150_600mm_f5_6.3_VC_USD_product_shot_6-630x483.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-40590 size-medium\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Tamron_SP_150_600mm_f5_6.3_VC_USD_product_shot_6-630x483-300x230.jpg\" alt=\"Tamron SP 150-600mm\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a>\n<p>The first reasonably portable 600mm zoom for full frame SLRs incorporates a silent, fast ultrasonic type focus motor and optical image stabilisation.
