At CES, Canon refreshed a few of its entry-level cameras with the release of five new\u00a0models, including three super-zoom cameras. The Canon PowerShot SX530 HS bridge camera should\u00a0be a popular model, boasting a 25-1200mm (equivalent) zoom lens, while on the more pocketable side is the Canon PowerShot SX610, which has a 25-450mm lens in a compact body. Sitting between these two is the Canon PowerShot SX710 HS, which features an impressive 25-750mm lens inside a bulky but well-made compact camera body. All were on show on the Canon stand.<\/p>\n
In addition to this, Canon had on display some entry-level compacts called the Canon Powershot Elph 160 and Canon Powershot Elph 170, although in the UK these will be called the Canon IXUS 160 and IXUS 170 respectively.<\/p>\n
Also, Canon showcased a 1TB image-sharing and storing device by the name of Connect Station CS100 and had numerous demonstrations of the product throughout the day. This device connects via HDMI to a TV and users can then preview images in full resolution. Also, users can organise images through their TV using a dedicated infrared remote. Of course, with the sheer number\u00a0of TVs available at CES it is the perfect place to announce this product. In the demonstration, the Canon representatives were transferring images to the device using Wi-Fi and NFC directly from their camera \u2013\u00a0a very cool way to back-up your images on the go.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere on the stand, many people were taking a close look at the huge line-up of lenses Canon has to offer. One in particular \u2013\u00a0the Canon EF 800mm f\/5.6L IS USM \u2013 even got the crowd to form an orderly queue. With a pricetag of \u00a39,999 in the UK, it\u2019s certainly not a lens many people will have seen, let alone shot a few snaps with.<\/p>\n
With the EOS 7D Mark II being the latest release, this camera was the star of the show for Canon.
