Winners of each of the 16 categories will bag a Canon PowerShot G7 X.<\/p>\n

Categories include animal behaviour, urban wildlife, marine life, animal portraits and the \u2018hidden secret world that lies in the undergrowth\u2019.<\/p>\n

The awards are designed to showcase the work of amateur and professional photographers and videographers.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the contest aims to turn the spotlight on the wealth and diversity of British natural history.<\/p>\n

Photographer and TV presenter Chris Packham said: \u2018Each year the British Wildlife Photographer Awards generates an incredible catalogue of splendid, exciting, imaginative and artistic images, proving beyond doubt that we have the richest palette of life to celebrate in our own backyard.<\/p>\n

\u2018Anyone passionate about protecting and preserving wildlife will be inspired by the British Wildlife Photographer Awards which, in its sixth year, has done more than any other award to raise the profile of British wildlife.\u2019<\/p>\n

There is a special award for Wildlife in HD Video, which is sponsored by Sky and offers prizes including a Sky TV package plus a 3D TV.<\/p>\n

The British Wildlife Photographer Awards 2015 is open until 2 May.<\/p>\n
