Based in Tokyo, Japan, the studio will give photographers and the general public the chance to interact and explore light field technology first hand.<\/p>\n

The Lytro Studio aims to provide \u2018dynamic exhibitions of living pictures and 3D imagery\u2019 captured using Lytro\u2019s second-generation model, the Lytro Illum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Launching its new studio, Lytro said: \u2018Harnessing the advantages of light field, users can render multiple outputs, including 3D living pictures from a single exposure by adjusting aperture, point of focus, tilt, perspective shift, depth of field and animation in both 2D and 3D.\u2019<\/p>\n

Like the original Lytro, the Lytro Illum \u2013 which was launched last year \u2013\u00a0uses technology that allows users to refocus an image post-capture.<\/p>\n

The Lytro Illum<\/a> features a 40 \u2018megaray\u2019 light field sensor, compared to 11 on the original version, and an 8x f\/2 lens designed to deliver the 35mm equivalent of a 30-250mm lens (compared to 43-344mm on its predecessor).<\/p>\n

Also on board the \u2018professional-grade\u2019 model is a hotshoe and a tilting, 4in LCD touchscreen.<\/p>\n

After image capture, photographers can use software to adjust focus, tilt and depth of field, for example.<\/p>\n

The original Lytro was first announced in 2011.<\/p>\n
