PhotoVoice, a charity that aims to use photography to bring about positive social change among disadvantaged and marginalised communities, is calling on people to enter the spring edition of the PhotoVoice Awards before the 20 April deadline. Last year\u2019s winner was Yanina Shevchenko for her project on vanishing rural communities in Belarus. The overall winner stands to bag \u00a3500 worth of print credits for the printing and framing service theprintspace. Runners-up will receive \u00a3100 credit. PhotoVoice and theprintspace launch spring edition of recent quarterly photography competition with Emma Bowkett, Peter Dench and Rob Crane as judges! <\/em><\/p>\n

PhotoVoice, the award\u2010winning charity which uses photography to deliver positive social change, has launched the second \u2018spring\u2019 edition of theprintspace PhotoVoice Awards!<\/em><\/p>\n

Last quarter PhotoVoice and theprintspace launched the inaugural winter edition of the Awards in which Tim Flach was lead judge, and the grand prize was won by photographer Yanina Shevchenko for her work on vanishing rural communities in Belarus.<\/em><\/p>\n

Working in partnership with theprintspace, the competition will invite submissions which interpret some of the core values that underpin PhotoVoice\u2019s work with marginalised and disadvantaged communities around the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

PhotoVoice will be using thehub, newly launched by theprintspace, as the submissions platform for the competition, and entrants will be able to use thehub to sell prints online. The theme of the second competition is \u2018Stories of Perspective\u2019, and it is now open for submissions! Entrants are invited to interpret this theme in any way they choose.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n The entries will be judged by an expert panel which includes acclaimed photographer Peter Dench, photography director Emma Bowkett from the <\/em>FT Weekend Magazine and Rob Crane, creative director of 125 Magazine. Entry to the competition is free for PhotoVoice members, and non\u2010members can enter each quarter\u2019s competition for a donation of \u00a320.<\/em><\/p>\n

The winner will receive the following:<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2022 \u00a3500 print credit at theprintspace, with runners up receiving \u00a3100 print credit.<\/em>
\n \u2022 A group exhibition for the shortlisted and winning entries held at theprintspace, 74 Kingsland Road, London.
\n\u2022 A double-page feature in PhotoVoice\u2019s quarterly publication, sent to its network of members.
\n\u2022 Promotion on both PhotoVoice and theprintspace\u2019s website, social media and newsletter, reaching over 25,000 people.
\n\u2022 Invitation to attend and speak at a private view held at theprintspace.<\/em><\/p>\n
