The prize is organised by the Japan Camera Journal Press Club, members of which include photographic journalists from Japan\u2019s leading photography and camera publications.<\/p>\n

The annual award is presented to the still camera introduced in Japan over the past year that club members deem \u2018most popular, valuable and innovating to the market\u2019.<\/p>\n

The judging committee said: \u2018To become the right product as the second-generation model of the Olympus OM-D E-M5, this camera is designed for focusing in high quality \u2013 close to that of the company’s flagship, the E-M1, in terms of both functionality and operability.\u2019<\/p>\n

They added: \u2018The 5-axis image stabilisation and 40MP high-resolution mode result in the possibility of [a] high-resolution image with a compact lens interchanging camera.<\/p>\n

\u2018In addition, the camera responds to users’ needs with features including dust-and-splash proof structure and low-temperature capability to minus 10\u00b0C.\u2019<\/p>\n

\"2015_CameraGP2015_EditorsAward_Logo\"<\/a>The Japan Camera Journal Press Club was founded in September 1963.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Olympus announced it was set to roll out 7,000 \u2018titanium-tinted\u2019 OM-D E-M5 Mark II cameras<\/a>, in homage to the firm\u2019s titanium-clad OM-3Ti SLR launched in 1994<\/p>\n

Announced in February, the OM-D E-M5 Mark II Olympus is a revamped version of the enthusiast-level OM-D E-M5.<\/p>\n

At the time, Olympus claimed to have improved its three-year-old 5-axis image stabilisation system to make it the \u2018world\u2019s most powerful IS\u2019, delivering \u2018startling image quality\u2019.<\/p>\n
