Olympus\u2019 Imaging Systems Business notched up an operating profit of 1.1 billion yen (around \u00a35.7m), compared to a 1.9 billion yen loss in the same quarter in 2014.<\/p>\n

Mirrorless camera sales rose 26% compared to the same period the year before, boosted by strong sales of CSCs such as the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II and Pen models.<\/p>\n

Net sales at Olympus\u2019s Imaging Systems Business grew 15.9% year-on-year, to 21.5 billion yen.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Olympus\u2019 camera business reported an operating loss of 13.9 billion yen for the year to 31 March 2015, a 4.7 billion higher loss than a year earlier.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, compact camera sales revenue for the quarter ended 30 June 2015 remained almost unchanged due to a shift towards high-value added models, despite an overall 11% drop in demand for compacts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
