Pieter ten Hoopen, a 2015 Nikon European Film Festival Judge<\/p>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n

The contest this year carries a theme of \u2018Everyday Moments\u2019, and films submitted can be up to 140 seconds long.<\/p>\n

The firm says, \u2018The challenge will be in seeing the ordinary with new eyes and reflecting it in a fresh way. Successful entries will take either the magic or mundanity of daily life and make it memorable on screen.\u2019<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s jury is headed up by Asif Kapadia, the filmmaker behind Amy<\/em>, the recent documentary about the life of Amy Winehouse, as well as 2010\u2019s BAFTA-award-winning Senna<\/em>.<\/p>\n\t\t

Also on the judging panel are Dirk Jasper, manager of professional products at Nikon Europe; Eliot Grove, film producer and founder of the Raindance Film Festival; and Pieter ten Hoopen, photographer and filmmaker based in Stockholm, Sweden (pictured top).<\/p>\n

Films entered need to be in English or have English subtitles, and be shot in HD format. Sub-categories include \u2018Best Narrative\u2019, \u2018Technical Excellence\u2019, Best Student Entry\u2019 and \u2018People\u2019s Choice\u2019, and each winner will receive a Nikon D750 film kit as well as various other prizes.<\/p>\n

The Grand Prix winner, as selected by the judges, will receive a Nikon D810 DSLR and an all-expenses-paid networking trip to the Cannes Film Festival in May 2016.<\/p>\n
