Firmware update version 2.0 for the Sony Alpha 7R II will be available through the Sony website at www.esupport.sony.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The firmware will add uncompressed\/compressed raw capture as a selectable feature within the menu system, plus the ability for the Sony Alpha 7R II to output video via HDMI when using the Remote Camera Control software feature that enables remote capture from a connected computer.<\/p>\n

Sony first announced the uncompressed file option last month<\/a>, with news that the new Sony Alpha 7S II would be equipped to shoot uncompressed 14-bit raw files, following calls from photographers.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the time, Neal Manowitz, deputy vice-president for Digital Imaging at Sony Electronics said: \u2018The voice of our Alpha community remains the most important guiding force of our product development plans.<\/p>\n

\u2018The addition of uncompressed 14-bit raw processing is a direct result of customer feedback.<\/p>\n

\u2018Widely requested by photo and video enthusiasts, we believe the choice of raw-processing types will further elevate the performance of these extraordinary cameras.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, earlier this week in an interview with Amateur Photographer<\/a>, Kimio Maki, senior general manager of Sony\u2019s Digital Imaging Business Group, revealed that if customers need more than 100 million pixels, Sony would create such a camera.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
