However, it\u2019s still not possible to retrieve any of the fine detail in the bride\u2019s dress, but we can do something about the shadows. I set the Contrast slider to +30. Meanwhile, in the HSL panel, I darkened the blue luminance slider slightly to make the sky a deeper blue.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Localised adjustments<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Step213.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64703\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Step213.jpg\" alt=\"Step2-localised adjustments\" width=\"600\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/10\/Step213.jpg 600w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/10\/Step213.jpg?resize=300,196 300w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/10\/Step213.jpg?resize=562,366 562w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>Next, I selected the Adjustment brush and with a combination of increased Exposure and increased Shadows, applied a localised adjustment to lighten the suits\u2019 shadows. I also applied a separate adjustment to darken the highlights on the bride\u2019s dress.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Graduated filter<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Step313.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-64702\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Step313.jpg\" alt=\"Step3-graduated filter\" width=\"600\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/10\/Step313.jpg 600w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/10\/Step313.jpg?resize=300,196 300w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2015\/10\/Step313.jpg?resize=562,366 562w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>I then selected the Graduated Filter tool and added darkening Graduated Filter adjustments either side of the picture and to the bottom. I also edited this using the Brush Edit tool to remove the effect from beneath the subjects\u2019 feet.
