Boasting 4K performance and a \u2018unique solar-charging solution\u2019, the Solar X features a 16MP imaging sensor, a seven-element f\/2.4 lens and a six frames-per-second burst rate for still photos. The Solar X will also come with 2in touchscreen.<\/p>\n

A solar panel, called the X Station, features panels designed to absorb and store solar energy, and fully charge in an hour.<\/p>\n

The charging case is claimed to provide four hours of battery life, on top of the two hours supplied by the
\nbuilt-in battery.<\/p>\n

Frank Donato, executive vice-president of Activeon, said: \u2018We\u2019ve designed the Solar X to be like nothing else in the market today, with a slender profile, a lens system protected by smooth, toughened glass, and a unique recharging system that uses the sun itself to recharge its battery.\u2019<\/p>\n

He added: \u2018So, even if you\u2019re in the middle of nowhere, you can keep recording your adventures.\u2019<\/p>\n

Donato said he expects the action camera market to nearly double in size over the next two years \u2018to nearly 20 million units annually\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Solar X is making its debut at this week\u2019s CES in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

A UK price has yet to be confirmed. In the US, it costs the equivalent of \u00a3295.<\/p>\n
