The UK\u2019s Samuel Hicks won second place in the professional category, while Steve Gosling won nominations in the abstract, architectural, nature and still-life categories.<\/p>\n

\u2018It is an incredible achievement to be selected among the best from the 7,686 entries we received this year,\u2019 said Basil O’Brien, creative director of the awards, which are designed to honour excellence in black & white photography.<\/p>\n

Frans Van Hoogstraten from the Netherlands claimed the amateur title, and French photographer Aernout Overbeeke was crowned best professional.<\/p>\n
