Bowie, who died earlier this week aged 69, is among star subjects of a new photography exhibition which opened at King\u2019s Cross Station in London yesterday.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Regan was official photographer to Bowie in the 1980s.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the picnic, O\u2019Regan told Amateur Photographer<\/em>: \u2018The picnic in Australia came about because a week earlier, in Japan, David had been very annoyed that I\u2019d missed a shot of him being mobbed.<\/p>\n

\u2018To make up for it, he not only arranged the picnic, but hired a car to drive us there himself!’<\/p>\n

The photographer added: \u2018He was a lovely, down-to-earth, Englishman.\u2019<\/p>\n

The exhibition at King\u2019s Cross, called \u2018Rock Through the Ages\u2019<\/a>, showcases O\u2019Regan\u2019s images of international music legends on and off stage, captured over a 40-year career.<\/p>\n

His famous subjects have also included Spandau Ballet, Pink Floyd, Queen, Duran Duran, Thin Lizzy and the Rolling Stones.<\/p>\n

The exhibition \u2013 organised in a tie-up with Network Rail \u2013 first went on display at Manchester Piccadilly station last September, before touring the UK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
