An 18-55mm zoom lens was used, but the photograph was shot at the 50mm setting. In the Basic panel I lightened the Exposure by +0.95 and added a little more contrast. In the Presence section I boosted the Clarity, setting it to +23 to add more texture to the wood grain.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Apply HSL adjustments<\/h2>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-68524\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_2.jpg\" alt=\"Georgina Larham 2\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_2.jpg?resize=300,200 300w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_2.jpg?resize=562,374 562w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>In this step I switched to the HSL\/Grayscale panel and checked the Luminance tab. Next, I selected the Targeted Adjustment tool from the Tools panel in Camera Raw and used this to hover the cursor over areas of the image, dragging up to lighten and dragging down to darken.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Add Lens Blur filler<\/h2>\n<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-68525\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_3.jpg\" alt=\"Georgina Larham 3\" width=\"562\" height=\"374\" srcset=\"https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_3.jpg 562w, https:\/\/other.kelsey.host\/amateurphotographer\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/16\/2016\/01\/GeorginaLarham_3.jpg?resize=300,200 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>In Photoshop, I added an alpha channel with a black to white linear gradient.
