Firmware update 1.01 for the Nikon D3300, D5500 and D5300 adds support for the AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f\/3.5-5.6G VR and AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f\/3.5-5.6G. Announced earlier this month<\/a>, the AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f\/3.5-5.6G VR and AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f\/3.5-5.6G are the first Nikkor lenses to boast Nikon\u2019s new stepping motor, aimed at videographers. Along with bug fixes, firmware improvements include the addition of an a5 manual-focus ring in AF mode to the custom setting menu of the D5500. Vibration reduction can be enabled or disabled using the new Optical VR option in the photo SHOOTING MENU, which is displayed when an AF-P DX NIKKOR 18\u201355mm f\/3.5\u20135.6G VR lens is attached.

\nTurning Auto info display off had no effect at focal lengths over 55 mm.

Vibration reduction can be enabled or disabled using the new Optical VR option in the photo SHOOTING MENU, which is displayed when an AF-P DX NIKKOR 18\u201355mm f\/3.5\u20135.6G VR lens is attached. The CUSTOM SETTING MENU now contains an a5 Manual focus ring in AF mode option that can be enabled or disabled when an AF-P DX NIKKOR 18\u201355mm f\/3.5\u20135.6G VR or AF-P DX NIKKOR 18\u201355mm f\/3.5\u20135.6G is attached.
\n\u2022 The following issues have been addressed:
\nNoise would occur at four-second intervals in audio output to external recorders connected via HDMI in movie live view.
\nChoosing negative values for Exposure compensation in the RETOUCH MENU >\u00a0 NEF (RAW) processing display did not have the desired effect.
\nSelecting ON for Exposure smoothing during interval timer photography would result in all shots after the first being overexposed.<\/p>\n
