If so, read on&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n&#013;<br \/>\n&#013;<br \/>\n&#013;<\/p>\n<p>AP is looking for a&#013;<br \/>\nphotograph taken by an AP reader to feature on the cover of this year&#8217;s Christmas Special (AP 21-28 December). We want a picture that typifies the&#013;<br \/>\nseason, so it could be a snowy landscape, the northern lights, winter wildlife&#013;<br \/>\n&#8211; in fact, anything that you think best illustrates the festive season. It&#013;<br \/>\ncould be an image that you already have on file or maybe you want to spend time&#013;<br \/>\nthinking about an idea and then go out to shoot it. Try to avoid the usual&#013;<br \/>\nChristmas clich\u00e9 images, though, as we&#8217;re looking for something stunning and&#013;<br \/>\neye-catching. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/keyassets.timeincuk.net\/inspirewp\/live\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/12\/2013\/11\/sample_christmas_covers.jpg\" border=\"0\"><\/img><\/p>\n<p>As the image will&#013;<br \/>\nappear on the front cover of the issue, there are a few other things to&#013;<br \/>\nconsider when planning or selecting your photograph: <\/p>\n<p>&#013;<br \/>\n&#013;<br \/>\n&#013;<br \/>\n&#013;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> The image should be&#013;<br \/>\nin portrait format<\/li>\n<li> It should have a&#013;<br \/>\nsuitable area in the upper quarter of the image on which to place the AP logo<\/li>\n<li> It should also have a&#013;<br \/>\nsimilar area elsewhere on which headlines can be placed<\/li>\n<li>While a&#013;<br \/>\nlow-resolution image will be required initially, a high-resolution image of at&#013;<br \/>\nleast 3,500 pixels along its longest edge will be needed for publication<\/li>\n<li>See above and below for example covers<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And don&#8217;t think you&#013;<br \/>\nonly have to submit one picture. If you have a selection of images that you&#013;<br \/>\nthink might be suitable, send them all.<\/p>\n<p>Make sure you&#013;<br \/>\nsend us your ph<\/p>\n<p>otographs by <strong>Saturday 30 November 2013<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>All you have to do is&#013;<br \/>\nupload your images to the &#8216;Christmas cover competition&#8217; <a href=\"http:\/\/amateurphotographer.co.uk\/photo-gallery\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gallery<\/a> by Saturday 30 November 2013 and we will&#013;<br \/>\nconsider each and every one.<\/p>\n<p> If we think your photograph is suitable for the AP&#013;<br \/>\nfront cover, we will inform you by private message on the website requesting a high resolution image file, so you may want to consider adjusting your setting to be informed of the private message. <\/p>\n<p>If your image is chosen to appear on the cover, you will receive a&#013;<br \/>\npayment of \u00a3200, plus a <strong>*Camlink CMP1 Monopod<\/strong> and&#013;<br \/>\na <strong>Kata DR 467i Digital Rucksack<\/strong> together worth over \u00a3100.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s all t<\/p>\n<p>here is to&#013;<br \/>\nit.
