\n Images: The Fujifilm X-A1 is the first camera in the X-series to be available in a variety of colours<\/em>\n <\/p>\n

Aimed at users looking to buy their first interchangeable lens system camera, the Fujifilm X-A1 retains the compact feel of its predecessor the X-M1 and also includes a 16.3-million pixel APS-C CMOS sensor.<\/p>\n

The firm says that this sensor will allow the camera to create \u2018rich tonal expression’, increase dynamic range and support a maximum 25,600 ISO. <\/p>\n

It also allows the user to produce a strong bokeh effect, and Fujifilm says its high ISO range will allow the X-A1 to deliver strong low-light performance.<\/p>\n

The X-A1 comes with Fujifilm’s EXR Processor II, which provides it with a quick start-up time of just 0.5 seconds and a maximum burst speed of 5.6 frames per second.<\/p>\n

Weighing 330 grams, the camera is designed to be easy to operate one-handed. All of the adjustable dials are situated on the right-hand side of the camera, allowing all settings to be adjusted with just the right hand.<\/p>\n

On its rear the X-A1 features a 3-inch tiltable LCD screen with 920,000 dots of resolution. Its built-in flash uses Super Intelligent Flash technology to assess a scene and then alters the flash output accordingly.<\/p>\n

Eight advanced filters also allow users to apply creative effects to their images, and Film Simulation modes emulate the looks of classic photographic films such as Velvia and Provia.<\/p>\n

The camera shoots full HD video (1920×1080) at 30 frames per second, and some effects such as Film Simulation and bokeh can be applied when shooting video.<\/p>\n

Wi-fi functionality allows for immediate transfer of images from the X-A1 to smartphones and tablets. The free Fujifilm camera app allows the camera’s built-in wireless image transfer function to instantly transfer and save images to other devices.<\/p>\n

As the camera is compatible with all Fujifilm X-mount lenses, Fuji has recommended two recent Fujinon XC lenses as being particularly well-suited for it.<\/p>\n

The Fujinon XC 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OIS lens (24-76mm equivalent) is available in a bundled kit with the X-A1 and consists of 12 elements in ten groups, including three aspherical elements. <\/p>\n

For a little more zoom reach, the XC 50-230mm f\/4.5-6.7 OIS lens (76-350mm equivalent) features 13 elements in ten groups, one aspherical.<\/p>\n

Both lenses include a high-precision stepping motor that Fujifilm says will guarantee high-speed autofocus.<\/p>\n

The Fujifilm X-A1 and Fujinon XC 16-50mm kit will be available from October 2013, priced at \u00a3529.99. The Fujinon XC 16-50mm is available to buy alone now, priced at \u00a3399.99, and the Fujinon XC 50-230mm lens will be on sale from November 2013, priced at \u00a3429.99<\/p>\n
