Harman Technology Limited explained that the theme of the competition this year, ‘Pride & Prejudice’, means ‘a reflection on the world today’.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the firm said that judges will be looking for images that are technically excellent, provoke an emotional response and exhibit an understanding of the brief.<\/p>\n

The brief, which can be viewed here<\/a>, instructs entrants to ‘be inspired by the world around us… Draw inspiration from nature, lifestyle, art, music and culture.’<\/p>\n

The competition is divided into two categories. The first, ‘Darkroom’, requires a darkroom print from a negative on Ilford or Kentmere b&w film, using Ilford or Kentmere papers.<\/p>\n

Category two, ‘Digital’, is for digital captures printed on Harman Crystaljet Elite RC Inkjet paper, minimum size A4.<\/p>\n

Two winners, one in each category, will win the title of Harman\/Ilford Student Photographer of the Year 2013, have their winning image professionally printed and framed and receive \u00a3150 worth of products from www.harmanexpress.com<\/p>\n
