In its announcement, the site pre-emptively
\nresponded to potential questions that could arise about its impartiality with
\nregard to products sold in the shop.<\/p>\n
\u2018We want to reassure you that we’ve worked hard
\nover the last 14 years to earn our reputation for unbiased, objective
\nassessment of digital photography equipment, and we have no intention of
\nthrowing that away,’ it said.<\/p>\n
The announcement went on to say that DPReview
\nand GearShop will be managed by different teams, and crossover between the two
\nwill be tightly restricted.<\/p>\n
The site pledged that the GearShop would only
\nsell products tested, approved or recommended by editorial staff, and that they
\nwould not shy away from informing consumers about products’ weaknesses as well
\nas strengths.<\/p>\n
\u2018We will not, ever, sell our
\ncredibility,’ DPReview said.<\/p>\n
