The camera’s light field sensor records the
\ncolour, intensity and direction of every light ray entering the camera and thus
\noffers users unprecedented ways with which to control their images.<\/p>\n

As well as post-capture focusing, the light
\nfield sensor also allows for shifting of perspective in a scene.<\/p>\n

Lytro CEO Jason Rosenthal said, \u2018With light
\nfield technology there is a huge opportunity for creativity in photography that
\nhasn’t been possible in the past.’<\/p>\n

The camera features just two buttons, power and
\nshutter, and a touchscreen, with which users can adjust and refocus images
\nin-camera.<\/p>\n

The camera was first announced in 2011<\/a>,
\nand at the time was touted by the firm as the \u2018most significant shift in
\nphotography since the digital revolution’.<\/p>\n

The Lytro camera will be available in 8 and 16GB
\nmodels and a variety of colours. Both models will be available from July 22
