At its\u00a0press conference at Photokina 2016, Panasonic has said that a successor to its flagship Lumix DMC-GH4 mirrorless camera for still and 4K video is in development, that will create \u2018a new era in imaging\u2019. It\u2019s scheduled to be available in the first half of 2017. Key features will include 4K video recording at 60fps; 6K Photo stills shooting at 30fps, with 18-million-pixel resolution; and an 8-million-pixel 60fps burst photo mode.<\/p>\n\t\t

Introducing the LUMIX GH5<\/em><\/p>\n

Cologne, Germany, 19 September 2016 \u2013 Panasonic today announces the LUMIX GH5, the world\u2019s first Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) interchangeable lens camera capable of recording high-precision smooth 4K 60p\/50p and faithfully reproductive 4:2:2 10-bit 4K video . This premium camera will offer exceptional performance for professional photographers, videographers and emerging photo\/video-hybrid creators.<\/em><\/p>\n

The new LUMIX GH5 is scheduled to enter the market in the first half of 2017 and will feature Panasonic\u2019s new \u20186K PHOTO\u2019 offering \u2013 an approximately 18-megapixel-equivalent still image extraction from an ultra-high quality video with approximately 9x higher resolution than Full HD. Furthermore, an approximately 8-megapixel equivalent \u20184K PHOTO\u2019 can be extracted from a video shot at 60 fps.<\/em><\/p>\n
